"Twilight" Pinoy Remake?

Ok so I was supposed to post this entry several days ago but due to some inconvenience I wasn't able to go online and bla bla bla.

Anyway, I learned about this news several hours before Christmas eve at the official blog of Twilight Coven Philippines.

According to them,it was stated on an ABS-CBN site that:

Filipino fans of Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" series will soon have another reason to celebrate after broadcasting giant ABS-CBN bagged the exclusive rights to make a local television series based on the vampire novels. Initial reports said ABS-CBN paid $1 million with co-producer Ignite Media for the rights to the Twilight series. The new series, tentatively titled "Takipsilim", will reunite the onscreen tandem of Rayver Cruz and Shaina Magdayao. Taping for the series will start February of next year. Some parts of the series will be shot abroad and the other locations include Tagaytay, Bukidnon and Baguio. The series will be directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina.

Rayver as Edward? Gimme a break.

Sample nga ng Takipsilim:

YIKES!

PS: Happy news: There are speculations too that the remake is only a hoax:
"Twilight" Pinoy Remake is a Hoax?

But we can't rejoice yet as to the network hasn't released yet their official statement. What a very nice Christmas gift guys, way to go.

Perfume:Story of a Murderer

He lived to find beauty. He killed to possess it.

Perfume:The Story of a Murderer is a 2006 German film directed by Tom Tykwer and based from the novel Perfume by Patrick Süskind.

Several songs were inspired by this book including Scentless Apprentice by Nirvana, Red Head Girl by Air and Du Riechst So Gut by Rammstein. Both the vocalists of the two bands (Nirvana and Rammstein) claimed the book as their personal favorite.

I loved this movie since the first time I saw it. Although it was a little disgusting, you can't seem to stop watching it.For the benefit of us all, I took the time to blog in the plot of the movie.

Plot

Set in 18th century France, the film tells the story of a misanthropic, olfactory genius, Jean-Baptiste Grenouille (Ben Whishaw) and his homicidal quest for the perfect scent.

The film begins with the sentencing of Grenouille, a notorious murderer. Between the reading of the sentence and the execution, the story of his life is told in flashback, beginning with his abandonment at birth in a French fish market. Raised in an orphanage, Grenouille grows into a strangely detached boy with a superhuman sense to smell. After growing to maturity as a tanner's apprentice, he makes his first delivery to Paris, where he revels in the new odors. He focuses on a girl selling plums and startles her with his behavior. To prevent her from crying out, he covers the girl's mouth and unintentionally suffocates her. After realizing that she is dead, he strips her body naked and smells her until the scent fades. Afterwards, Grenouille becomes haunted by the desire to preserve scents forever.

After making a delivery to a perfume shop, Grenouille amazes the owner, Giuseppe Baldini (Dustin Hoffman), with his ability to create fragrances. He revitalizes the perfumer's career with new formulas, demanding only that Baldini teach him how to convert scents into perfume. Baldini explains that all perfumes are a harmony of twelve individual scents, sometimes with a theoretical thirteenth scent. He also tells a story about a perfume discovered in an Egyptian tomb that was so perfect that it affected the entire world the moment the bottle was opened. However, when Grenouille discovers that Baldini's method will not capture all scents, he becomes depressed and leaves Baldini to learn superior methods in Grasse. En route to Grasse, Grenouille realizes that he has no scent of his own, and is therefore a cipher. He decides that creating the perfect smell will compensate for his lack.

Grenouille finds work in Grasse assisting with perfumes. After some experimenting, he succeeds in preserving the scent of a woman by cutting her hair, covering her in animal fat, and then distilling the animal fat. To force the woman to undergo the procedure, however, he must kill her. Grenouille embarks on a killing spree, murdering beautiful virgins and capturing their scents. He dumps the girls' naked corpses around the city, creating an uproar that threatens to tear the city apart. Nearing completion, Grenouille selects a beautiful young lady, Laura (Rachel Hurd-Wood), for his thirteenth scent, the lynchpin of his perfect perfume. Laura's wealthy father, Antoine Richis (Alan Rickman) realizes the danger and attempts to flee the city with his daughter. Grenouille tracks her scent to a roadside inn and sneaks into her room that night. The next morning, Richis discovers Laura lying dead in her bed.
Soldiers capture Grenouille moments after he finishes his perfume. On the day of his execution, he applies a drop of the perfume to himself. The executioner and the crowd in attendance are overwhelmed by the beauty of the perfume. They declare Grenouille innocent before falling into an orgy. Walking out of Grasse unscathed, Grenouille has enough perfume to rule the world, but has discovered that it will not allow him to love or be loved like a normal person. He returns to the fish market where he was born and empties his perfume bottle over his head. Overcome by the scent, the nearby crowd devours him. (from Wikipedia)

I've been wanting to see this movie again but it seems fate won't let me. I can't seem to catch the timing whenever it's shown on StarWorld. Hopefully I'll be able to find a DVD copy of it.

Season ender:Hamilton claims crown

Although I'm not a big fan of Ham, I still have to give credits to this guy for having a wonderful season.

Lewis Hamilton claimed his first title on his sophomore year at F1, the 30th and youngest driver so far.

Didn't have the chance to watch the whole race, sucks. The race started very late, almost 2am in the morning and when it finally started, I couldn't fight the sleepiness. Seeing that there were still 50 more laps to go, I finally succumbed into sleep.
Massa was in pole position followed by Trulli and KIMI in third. His rival, Lewis, was stuck in fourth place. A few minutes before the race was about to start, rain suddenly came crashing down resulting to a delay. Anyway, I won't trouble you guys with a long report, I know you've already read like a gazillion reports about the Sao Paolo race.

Finally, the F1 2008 season is over. I still have high hopes and support for KIMI, Felipe and the whole Ferrari team. I'm looking forward to next season :D

No more staying up late to watch F1 for the next several months for me :D

I felt sorry for Kimi during last sunday's race.

The photos below broke our (me and the guys at Kimi's official forum) hearts so badly that we gathered together to have one big virtual group hug.

*hugs*

China milk scare

As a milk lover, I was deeply disturbed of the issue concerning the melamine-contaminated milk products from China although I doubt it if the brand of milk I usually drink comes from there. But the WHO (World Health Organization) does not recommend a total ban of milk products from China but acknowledged that each government should take precautions to the health scare.

The point is, consumers like me are now having doubts of adding milk on their shopping list though not ALL milk in the market comes from China. But as the saying goes: "Prevention IS better than cure" or something like that lol.

I wish this would be over soon.

Another "controversy"

I don't find this photo offensive. Do you?

What if I took a picture of myself while slanting my eyes? Would it look like I was mocking an entire continent?

Filipinos have been insulted much worst than that.

Sunday Afternoon.

Well, school sucks as usual.

All I wanna do is to write stuff, daydream and laugh my ass off but instead I'm stuck with a 3-hour Accounting class. Bummer. Or maybe I'm just plain LAZY.

So to keep me from going insane, I began to write poems and those half finished stories again. But this time, I'm taking my time. I know I still have a long way to go so I what I did yesterday was devour Leaves of Grass.

Shakespeare,Whitman,Frost,Dickenson.... the list goes on and on.

PS:Kimi's on Pole Position :)

Kimi.

Well rumors are saying that Kimi will retire on 2010. Shets.

I can't accept that, I know that isn't true. But according to some effin sites "Kimi loves the driving and hates everything else about Formula One".

Oh darn, I've never seen him in person yet and now he's planning to retire? Mercy me Jesus, he's the reason why I want to go to a GP *sniff*. Oh please Lord he's too young to retire, on 2010 he will only be 30. Can't he extend for another 5 years?

Oh well, I hope its not final yet. :(

David Cook wins :)

Omg,I really can't believe it. Last night, some dorky sites told me that Archie won but then again, they aren't credible enough lol.

I just received the news as I was writing the other entry. He deserves to win really, I'm sooo happy. Darn, too bad I'm at the office now so I didn't catch the live telecast. Darn it. Oh Well I would love to watch the replay over and over again because of him.

Yes,David Cook fans celebrate! :)

Saturdayx.

I'm watching Star World's American Idol '08 marathon.

Because of my hectic *burp* schedule I never got the chance to see each episode completely so I took my chance and spent the whole afternoon watching reruns.

How could Simon say that David C. lacks charisma? lol.

David vs. David

David Cook vs. David Archuleta

Okay,so maybe I'm just being unfair to the little David. :) But seriously,I like the older David better. David Cook.

I don't think there's a need to voice out my opinion here. Haha.

I just love David Cook, that's all. I love his voice, the way he sings, his character and his looks. Yebah lol. I think he's hot too. And I think he deserves to be the next American Idol. *crossedfingers*

They're both great singers. They wouldn't be there onstage if they weren't. :)
Anyway, goodluck and congratulations to the both of them :)
