I felt sorry for Kimi during last sunday's race.

The photos below broke our (me and the guys at Kimi's official forum) hearts so badly that we gathered together to have one big virtual group hug.

Under bright lights-Singtel Singapore GP '08

Last night was history in the making as thousands of fans witnessed Formula 1's first ever night race- the Singtel Singapore GP.

It proved to be Fernando Alonso's night as he claimed his 20^th win of his career and his comeback win since last year's Italian GP.

China milk scare

As a milk lover, I was deeply disturbed of the issue concerning the melamine-contaminated milk products from China although I doubt it if the brand of milk I usually drink comes from there. But the WHO (World Health Organization) does not recommend a total ban of milk products from China but acknowledged that each government should take precautions to the health scare.

The point is, consumers like me are now having doubts of adding milk on their shopping list though not ALL milk in the market comes from China. But as the saying goes: "Prevention IS better than cure" or something like that lol.

I wish this would be over soon.

I love reading so much and it's something that I'm proud to admit. Even though some people think that people who love to read are just a bunch of weirdos, I really don't care. I'd rather stay home than parrrtteeyyy senselessly. Yes, I do go out every now and then but I don't go out and get pissed-drunk anymore. Maybe I just got tired of the usual senseless activity.

Anyway in relation to this bookworm thingy, I happen to bump into a Deviantart article entitled Books.Reading.A big part of our life and I saw some interesting photos about books and book lovers. I hope you'll like them as much as I do.

Another "controversy"

I don't find this photo offensive. Do you?

What if I took a picture of myself while slanting my eyes? Would it look like I was mocking an entire continent?

Filipinos have been insulted much worst than that.

I feel inspired :]]

Paolo Coelho’s books really have a huge impact on me. They made me think more, explore more and made me realize how import and beautiful life is. I really admire his open-mindess about certain topics that are usually taboos to other people.

As of now, I’ve only read 3 of his best-selling novels and I can’t wait to read the rest.

The Alchemist. A personal favorite of mine. I’ve been hearing positive remarks about this book and I was dying to get a copy of it. Unfortunately I only got my personal copy several days ago thanks to my sister who provided me two PC novels (The Alchemist and 11 Minutes).

The book tells about the story of Santiago, a shepherd boy from Andalusia who had a dream about treasures and the Great Pyramids of Egypt. He went to follow his dream and met several people including a king, a gypsy, a merchant, an alchemist and the girl who stole his heart-Fatima.

This book is really inspiring especially to those who still have doubts about following and discovering their dreams and realizing that what they’re looking for are the ones standing at their doorsteps.

The Zahir. The first ever PC book that I’ve read. I borrowed a copy from Quennie and returned it after several months (I didn’t know why It took me so long to finish this amazing book). The description of this book is that it’s a novel of obsession.

The story revolves around the narrator, a bestselling novelist's search for his missing wife, Esther. He enjoys all the privileges that money and celebrity bring. He is suspected of foul play by the authorities and the press of having a role to play in the inexplicable disappearance of his wife from their Paris home.

Thereby, the protagonist is forced to re-examine his own life and marriage as well. The narrator is unable to figure out what led to Esther's disappearance. Was she abducted or had she abandoned their marriage? He comes across Mikhail, one of Esther's friends. The narrator with his help realizes that to find Esther, he must find his own self. Mikhail introduces him to a tribe who has unconventional ways of living. Through the narrator's journey from Paris to Kazakhstan, Coelho explores various meanings of love and life. Another must-read. :]]

11 Minutes. I just finished reading this one a couple of hours ago, and yes, 'tis another good one. It tells about the story of Maria, a Brazilian girl, who was forced to sell herself in order to survive in a foreign country. She was a bit skeptical about love and doubt if she'll ever fall in love. Later, she met a painter who showed her what Love really is and accepted her for what she really is.
