I'm still alive

I haven't posted anything in here for like a year or so already. I got pretty busy with school that I rarely had time to go online except when I'm doing a research on labor codes, fringe benefits, etc.

When I finally had time to rant about my not-so-exciting life, I forgot all my passwords. Pw for tumblr, blogger and even twitter. WTF!? Good thing I was smart enough to jot it down on my little green back. Ta-ta! I'm back. ROFL.

Hmm, so what's new?

Well, I graduated from college last March and until now I'm still completely jobless. Not that I didn't look for a job, I just couldn't get in. Imagine my frustration when almost all my classmates now have stable - err jobs. Not that I don't have one 'cuz I'm still working as a DJ but this time at a new radio station. I'll talk about that later.

Well anyway, life after college is pretty tough. I have to face several responsibilities and It's almost choking me. Good thing though is that I still work as a DJ in one of the local radio stations in Tagum. Being on-air makes me happy. It's like my medication for depression. Although the pay's not that good, still I'm having a good time entertaining people.

Oh well, I know God has other plans for me. I'll just gonna sit back and wait. I may not be financially well-off as of now, but I'll get by. I always do.

all i want for christmas :)

The ones I've carefully jot down on my Christmas list. I just hope I'll be able to get at least half of the things on the list.

As of now, all I want are:

MacArthur by Bob Ong
Idol!

Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer
I was sleeping when the world started buying this. Baduy na kung baduy.

PHR Lothario Series by EM
Love it. Love it. Love it.

PHR Kristine Series by MC
One word: LOVE IT!
new Vans Slip On
Wearing high-cut chuck's is major hassle :((

As of now, the stuff above are what's on my list. Not really expensive :)

I skipped classes again today. I'm in no mood for a recitation at my Law 2 class so I decided to drop by at the internet lab here at school since it's raining cats and dogs outside.

Normally I would rather spend my time reading at the Library but got lazy just thinking about the distance I would walk to get there (the college library is located at the last building, all the way back).

Uh-oh, I think the bell just rang. Gotta go :))

on moving on

I'm back.

A lot has happened since the last time I posted something here. I was depressed for a short period of time but I realized that life must go on. No matter how hard I try, I can never turn back time. Crying won't bring them back to me. I should always put in mind that they have given me a second chance to go on with my normal life, and that I should make the most out of it.

I may have my old life back now, get drunk every now and then and go out with my friends but deep inside I know I'm willing to give up all of these just to hold them again.

But I know we'll see each other again SOON.

Nanay's going to make you proud boys, just wait and see :)

I just turned 20 yesterday, and it was the worst birthday ever. Worst not because I preferred not have parties or booze but because I realized that things will definitely be never be the same again.

IMYSM :(

I've never felt so alone.

Each night, every time I close my eyes, my only wish is that I'd never have to wake up again.

i got lucky :)

Finally, one miracle which I've been waiting for almost 2 weeks. My 1st sale.

~Think POSITIVE.

right here waiting

I know I've been mistaken
But just give me a break and see the changes that I've made
I've got some imperfections
But how can you collect them all and throw them in my face

But you always find a way to keep me right here waiting
You always find the words to say to keep me right here waiting
And if you chose to walk away I'd still be right here waiting
Searching for the things to say to keep you right here waiting

I hope you're not intending
To be so condescending it's as much as i can take
and you're so independent
you just refuse to bend so I keep bending till I break

I've made a commitment
I'm willing to bleed for you
I needed fulfillment
I found what I need in you

Why can't you just forgive me
I don't want to relive all the mistakes I've made along the way
But I always find a way to keep you right here waiting
I always find the words to say to keep you right here waiting

But you always find a way
To keep me right here waiting
You always find the words to say to keep me right here waiting
And if I chose to walk away would you be right here waiting
Searching for the things to say to keep me right here waiting

I will always be here, waiting.
No questions. I'm here,always here.

i need a miracle

Everything happens for a reason. I never blamed God for all the not-so-overwhelming things that happened recently. But even if I'd cry my soul out, I can never bring back time.

Lesson learned: never be too gullible. Trust your brain, not your heart.

Life was much better before I met him. Darn.

Well I had fun during NY's eve. Lot's of food, booze and FIREWORKS! I, cannot understand why I so love watching fireworks, well who doesn't?

Luckily, I was one of the thousands of people who witnessed the fantastic Fireworks display sponsored by the City Government of Tagum. The long walk was worth it :]

Here are some of the photos and video courtesy of The Official Website of the City Government of Tagum and some reliable residents.

Unfortunately I have to crop some of the pics cause they won't seem to fit. But you can view them from the original site http://www.tagumcity.gov.ph and click on Christmas Celebration.

"Twilight" Pinoy Remake?

Ok so I was supposed to post this entry several days ago but due to some inconvenience I wasn't able to go online and bla bla bla.

Anyway, I learned about this news several hours before Christmas eve at the official blog of Twilight Coven Philippines.

According to them,it was stated on an ABS-CBN site that:

Filipino fans of Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" series will soon have another reason to celebrate after broadcasting giant ABS-CBN bagged the exclusive rights to make a local television series based on the vampire novels. Initial reports said ABS-CBN paid $1 million with co-producer Ignite Media for the rights to the Twilight series. The new series, tentatively titled "Takipsilim", will reunite the onscreen tandem of Rayver Cruz and Shaina Magdayao. Taping for the series will start February of next year. Some parts of the series will be shot abroad and the other locations include Tagaytay, Bukidnon and Baguio. The series will be directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina.

Rayver as Edward? Gimme a break.

Sample nga ng Takipsilim:

YIKES!

PS: Happy news: There are speculations too that the remake is only a hoax:
"Twilight" Pinoy Remake is a Hoax?

But we can't rejoice yet as to the network hasn't released yet their official statement. What a very nice Christmas gift guys, way to go.

Perfume:Story of a Murderer

He lived to find beauty. He killed to possess it.

Perfume:The Story of a Murderer is a 2006 German film directed by Tom Tykwer and based from the novel Perfume by Patrick Süskind.

Several songs were inspired by this book including Scentless Apprentice by Nirvana, Red Head Girl by Air and Du Riechst So Gut by Rammstein. Both the vocalists of the two bands (Nirvana and Rammstein) claimed the book as their personal favorite.

I loved this movie since the first time I saw it. Although it was a little disgusting, you can't seem to stop watching it.For the benefit of us all, I took the time to blog in the plot of the movie.

Plot

Set in 18th century France, the film tells the story of a misanthropic, olfactory genius, Jean-Baptiste Grenouille (Ben Whishaw) and his homicidal quest for the perfect scent.

The film begins with the sentencing of Grenouille, a notorious murderer. Between the reading of the sentence and the execution, the story of his life is told in flashback, beginning with his abandonment at birth in a French fish market. Raised in an orphanage, Grenouille grows into a strangely detached boy with a superhuman sense to smell. After growing to maturity as a tanner's apprentice, he makes his first delivery to Paris, where he revels in the new odors. He focuses on a girl selling plums and startles her with his behavior. To prevent her from crying out, he covers the girl's mouth and unintentionally suffocates her. After realizing that she is dead, he strips her body naked and smells her until the scent fades. Afterwards, Grenouille becomes haunted by the desire to preserve scents forever.

After making a delivery to a perfume shop, Grenouille amazes the owner, Giuseppe Baldini (Dustin Hoffman), with his ability to create fragrances. He revitalizes the perfumer's career with new formulas, demanding only that Baldini teach him how to convert scents into perfume. Baldini explains that all perfumes are a harmony of twelve individual scents, sometimes with a theoretical thirteenth scent. He also tells a story about a perfume discovered in an Egyptian tomb that was so perfect that it affected the entire world the moment the bottle was opened. However, when Grenouille discovers that Baldini's method will not capture all scents, he becomes depressed and leaves Baldini to learn superior methods in Grasse. En route to Grasse, Grenouille realizes that he has no scent of his own, and is therefore a cipher. He decides that creating the perfect smell will compensate for his lack.

Grenouille finds work in Grasse assisting with perfumes. After some experimenting, he succeeds in preserving the scent of a woman by cutting her hair, covering her in animal fat, and then distilling the animal fat. To force the woman to undergo the procedure, however, he must kill her. Grenouille embarks on a killing spree, murdering beautiful virgins and capturing their scents. He dumps the girls' naked corpses around the city, creating an uproar that threatens to tear the city apart. Nearing completion, Grenouille selects a beautiful young lady, Laura (Rachel Hurd-Wood), for his thirteenth scent, the lynchpin of his perfect perfume. Laura's wealthy father, Antoine Richis (Alan Rickman) realizes the danger and attempts to flee the city with his daughter. Grenouille tracks her scent to a roadside inn and sneaks into her room that night. The next morning, Richis discovers Laura lying dead in her bed.
Soldiers capture Grenouille moments after he finishes his perfume. On the day of his execution, he applies a drop of the perfume to himself. The executioner and the crowd in attendance are overwhelmed by the beauty of the perfume. They declare Grenouille innocent before falling into an orgy. Walking out of Grasse unscathed, Grenouille has enough perfume to rule the world, but has discovered that it will not allow him to love or be loved like a normal person. He returns to the fish market where he was born and empties his perfume bottle over his head. Overcome by the scent, the nearby crowd devours him. (from Wikipedia)

I've been wanting to see this movie again but it seems fate won't let me. I can't seem to catch the timing whenever it's shown on StarWorld. Hopefully I'll be able to find a DVD copy of it.

Season ender:Hamilton claims crown

Although I'm not a big fan of Ham, I still have to give credits to this guy for having a wonderful season.

Lewis Hamilton claimed his first title on his sophomore year at F1, the 30th and youngest driver so far.

Didn't have the chance to watch the whole race, sucks. The race started very late, almost 2am in the morning and when it finally started, I couldn't fight the sleepiness. Seeing that there were still 50 more laps to go, I finally succumbed into sleep.
Massa was in pole position followed by Trulli and KIMI in third. His rival, Lewis, was stuck in fourth place. A few minutes before the race was about to start, rain suddenly came crashing down resulting to a delay. Anyway, I won't trouble you guys with a long report, I know you've already read like a gazillion reports about the Sao Paolo race.

Finally, the F1 2008 season is over. I still have high hopes and support for KIMI, Felipe and the whole Ferrari team. I'm looking forward to next season :D

No more staying up late to watch F1 for the next several months for me :D

Happy Diwali :D

I've seen the word 'Diwali' on an HBO ad, got curious and forgot about it the next hour. This time, I took my time to google about it and learned that Diwali was actually called "Festival of Lights".

It is a major Indian holiday, and a significant festival in Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism, and Jainism. Many legends are associated with Diwali. Today it is celebrated by Hindus, Jains, and Sikhs across the globe as the "Festival of Lights," where the lights or lamps signify victory of good over the evil within every human being. Diwali is celebrated on the fifteenth day of the month Kartika
.

In many parts of India, it is the homecoming of Lord Rama of Ayodhya after a 14-year exile in the forest, after he defeated the evil Ravana. The people of Ayodhya (the capital of his kingdom) welcomed Rama by lighting rows (avali) of lamps (deeva), thus its name: Deepavali. This word, in due course, became Diwali in Hindi. But, in South Indian languages, the word did not undergo any change, and hence the festival is called Deepavali in southern India. There are many different observances of the holiday across India.

Jainism marks Diwali as the nirvana of Lord Mahavira, which occurred on 15 October, 527 BCE.

Among the Sikhs, Diwali came to have special significance from the day the town of Amritsar was illuminated on the return to it of Guru Hargobind (1595-1644) who had been held captive in the Fort at Gwalior under the orders of the Mughal emperor, Jahangir (1570-1627). As the sixth Guru (teacher) of Sikhism, Guru Hargobind Ji, was freed from imprisonment - along with 53 Hindu Kings (who were held as political prisoners) whom the Guru had arranged to be released as well. After his release he went to the Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple) in the holy city of Amritsar, where he was welcomed in happiness by the people who lit candles and diyas to greet the Guru. Because of this, Sikhs often refer to Diwali also as Bandi Chhorh Divas - "the day of release of detainees."

The festival is also celebrated by Buddhists of Nepal, particularly the Newar Buddhists.

In India, Diwali is now considered to be a national festival, and the aesthetic aspect of the festival is enjoyed by most Indians regardless of faith. (from Wikipedia)

I've always been fascinated by colorful festivals like this. Happy Diwali everyone! :D
